Across Deep Streams
by Joseph J. Biernacki
Published by The Vendor
There are those illusive moments when we feel we'd like to stay, a point in time, a place in space or just to chase a dream.
Across deep streams
And into dreams
Of forests and strange scenes.
I venture there
Where few would dare,
In search of fools and kings.
No stone for foot
Or rope to put
A leg or arm the span.
Just restlessness,
And senselessness,
And cause for cautious plan.
When there I spy
A zebra’s eye,
Through thorn and dappled oak.
I think I’ll stay
To chase the bray
But ne, a start, I woke.
