Life
by Joseph J. Biernacki
Despite our agency and sense of purpose given, we must live in time and place and memory and run the noble race.
Hear am I
An open door,
A path ahead,
An unknown shore.
Hear am I,
An epic quest,
An odyssey;
A rueful test.
Hear am I,
A voyage fleet,
A trek so bitter,
A trip so sweet.
Hear am I,
A marathon,
A race of breadth,
And brain and brawn.
